The National Exhibition Centre hosts more than 180 exhibitions each year, including world-famous public shows like Crufts Dog Show and the British International Motor Show and international trade exhibitions such as IPEX and the Spring Fair. In addition to these better known events, there are many smaller specialist shows which are gaining popularity and are responsible for adding to the millions of visitors already coming to the centre each year. Award winning food outlets ranging from simple bars and cafes to sophisticated restaurants are operated by dedicated catering teams.

The NEC Arena is best known for its sell-out concerts and sporting events. It is to be found within the NEC complex and seats 12,300 people attracting in the region of one million individuals each year. Many famous performers such as Queen, Pavarotti and Elton John have appeared time and again on this fine stage since the arena was first opened in 1980.

The International Convention Centre which was completed in 1991is the biggest purpose built conference venue in Europe and boasts no less than eleven individual halls specially designed to offer flexibility and equipped with state of the art audio-visual equipment and sophisticated theatre technology.

Symphony Hall is part of the NEC Group and is located within the International Convention Centre (ICC) .It opened in 1991 and very quickly became not only the best concert venue in the UK but gained recognition as one of the finest in the world. It still remains so today and is particularly noted for its remarkable design and acoustics. It is home to the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and hosts a huge variety of musical events ranging from jazz and pop through to folk and classical. Many well-known international orchestras and musicians come to the concert hall every year during the International Concert Season.

The National Indoor Arena is located in Birmingham city centre close to the ICC and provides a perfect venue for national and international indoor sporting events such as the Davis Cup tennis championship. The auditorium seats 4500 people making it not only ideal for large- scale sporting events but also a venue for concerts, ice shows, ballet and theatre.

As well as hosting major national and international exhibitions and events, the city proudly boasts a rich heritage and is renowned for its prominence during the Industrial Revolution when its network of canals were established. These, together with a variety of theatres, shops museums and art galleries are amongst a number of attractions worth a visit when spending time in Birmingham.
